Mission, Vision, and Provision

When my husband and I first brought our two kids to Madrid, Spain, we knew life as missionaries would require faith, but we could not have imagined the challenges we were about to face. We were in an incredible country, yet far from home and from the steady network of support we had always known.
We arrived in Spain with a clear purpose; to plant a church that would be a refuge and a place where people from every background could encounter Jesus. But almost immediately, we were met with challenges. The government required high taxes and large deposits just to begin the project. Our small savings quickly turned into architect fees, building permits, and even an unexpected basement that had to be built before anything else could move forward.
In those moments, the weight of the unknown pressed heavily on us. We had five children to care for, no income, and mounting expenses. It would have been easy to give in to the worry, but instead, we decided to seek God first. We prayed, fasted, and kept moving forward in faith.
After a year, the first signs of breakthrough began to appear. God opened doors we could not have opened ourselves: a clear vision, a step-by-step strategy, unexpected provision, and the start of construction. Just like Nehemiah rebuilding the walls of Jerusalem, we faced opposing forces that tried to stop the work. But when God gives a vision, He also gives the provision and the victory.
Today there is a completed church building, alive with ministry. Even before the last brick was laid, it became a place of comfort, encouragement, protection, and provision. Muslims, Catholics, and atheists alike have walked through its doors and heard the hope of Christ. It is a reminder that the God who calls us is also the God who equips us. His resources never run dry.
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of His glory in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:19
Prayer:
Lord, You are my Provider. Even when resources run out, Your hands never fail. Help me trust You in seasons of scarcity, knowing You are always working for my good and for Your glory. Amen.
