WOMENS MINISTRIES GROUPS

Women’s ministry groups serve as a conduit for connection, encourage spiritual growth and focus on needs of the local church as well as the global church. It functions under the direction of the senior or lead pastor. The focus of women’s ministry is sharing God’s love and seeking His will.

Any woman who is a member or friend of the church can join. Each woman in the congregation

should be included and feel welcome! Women’s Ministry is for ALL women.

We need each other! We really are better together.

PURPOSE:

Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And surely I am with you always, to the end of the age.

MEET WITH THE PASTOR

A positive Godly influence in the church is essential to women’s ministries. Strong relational gifts and the ability to connect with women across various ages and stages of life is also an important element in building a viable ministry. When meeting with the pastor, share your ideas and discuss how this ministry will fill a need in the church and how you plan to disciple and encourage women in the church as they grow in their spiritual walk. Develop a plan that will it encourage and equip women to serve. The pastor should set the first meeting and choose the leader. Meet with the church leadership when planning your yearly calendar so there won’t be conflict with schedules. It is also important to keep the school calendar in mind when planning events and meetings.

3

BUILD A TEAM

In cooperation with the pastor and church leadership you will select a women’s ministry team. Your leadership team should reflect the diversity of age, skills, passions, spiritual and natural giftings. Be intentional. Recognizing each one’s giftings and allowing them the liberty to lead in them will be beneficial to everyone.

4

WRITE A MISSION STATEMENT

In the development of your mission statement keep in mind that it should always echo the core vision of the local church. It should then speak clearly to the purpose of the women’s ministry vision. Everything you do should fit within that purpose. A clear and united vision will assure success for the spiritual well-being of your women AND enhance the growth of the entire church body. So much can be accomplished when everyone shares the same goal.

5

TRAINING

Provide training to the women on your team. Instruct them as they learn to walk in the fullness of God and equip them to serve Him fully with the gifts he has imparted to them. Utilize Bible studies, servant-leadership studies, and mentoring guides.  Church of God Women’s Discipleship has exceptional resources to choose from. Your pastoral leadership may also have personal recommendations.

6

CONNECT

It will be important that you contact your State/Regional Women’s Ministries Director to be included on her mailing/email list. She will notify you of any women’s conferences, training, resources and guidelines that will be beneficial to you and your ladies.
